WHAT IS OFFICE 365?
Office 365 is a bundle of apps, each one individually applicable educational situations. Office 365 contains well known apps like Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but new apps have been added – for example Forms, OneNote and Teams. The apps can be used in any number of ways, including but not limited to, multiple people being able to edit and write in the same document at the same time, for example in connection to project writing, peer-feedback, PowerPoint presentations and virtual supervision meeting in instances where a student or educator is unable to hold a physical meeting.
PEDAGOGICAL ADVANTAGES
Office 365 includes apps for production and cooperation, where students and educators can interact at the same time. The possibilities for how and where Office can be utilized in the curriculum are plentiful. For example, you can create a OneNote notebook that you share with your students, so they have the opportunity to ask questions, voice doubts and share reflections that may occur during the lecture or surrounding the curriculum. These doubts and reflections can then be taken into account when planning your curriculum. This way you can revisit the areas that are challenging for the students. Another example is Forms, which can be utilized directly in the lectures. Form can help with providing the students with variation in class, by adding quizzes and polls to your teaching. This provides a break for the students, but also enables you to interact with your students in a different manner.
