Activities to promote the creation of research questions.

Project work is an essential part of the study model used at AAU. It can be challenging for the students to make a research question that is adequate for a project, which slows down the project work. Therefor it is beneficial for you as an educator and supervisor to incorporate study activities in your teachings that concern the creation of their research question. Through these study activities you create a structure around the creation of the research question and the basis of the project.
As an educator and supervisor, you can plan study activities that concern the creation of research questions in various ways. As inspiration you can plan study activities in a way where you students are systematically guided through a series of questions that are related to the projects purpose as well as what theories, empirical knowledge and methods the students could use in their project. The result is an academically qualified research question that can create the basis for a further dialogue between the students and the supervisor.
THE STUDENTS SAY:
“Study activities had the effect that we worked systematically with our research question, and it created a dialogue between my project groups and our supervisor. We created a joint basis for our project and had a good start with our project”
Therefore, study activities where the students in collaboration with educators and supervisors are allowed to develop their research question, advantageous for the students’ project work and thereby the group work as a whole.
