Quizzes in class
Quizzes in class
One of the very best ways to activate your students, is to have them participate in quizzes, poles or test. These can be both formal and informal. A quiz can be used as an icebreaker and create a more relaxed atmosphere when starting a new course or as a fun start for the students at the beginning of the semester. A quiz can also be used to provide you as an educator with insight into your students' academic progression and if their knowledge might be lacking in certain areas that you should be aware of, so you may remedy this during the course.
At CDUL we recommend Learning Technologies which provides you with the option of creating quizzes, poles or test and many other engaging activities that can be used to activate your students. Among these are the Moodle quiz function, which provides you with ample opportunity to make quizzes. Microsoft Forms is part of the Office 365 package and in this program, it is easy to set up questionaries, tests and quizzes. The resources created in Forms are easily shared either on Teams or Moodle. Put simply, you have ample opportunity to activate your students, both before and after your classes.
If you want to learn more about Moodle and Forms and how you get started on using these Learning Technologies for, amongst other things, the creation of quizzes, you can read more about it on our page concerning Learning Technologies.
